Nowadays, there are numerous life coaches and spiritual teachers that explain how we, human beings, can “create our own reality” and manifest what we desire or want from life.
For an elementary example—you may hunger and thirst for a new Ferrari…or a new barn. But your pocketbook isn’t close to being able to pay for one.
BELIEVE and Give Thanks
But, according to coaches and teachers, if we BELIEVE in our dream and treat it as if it has already come to pass—our wishes will come true. We need to create a scene and celebrate the scene in which we win the lottery, or a scene in which we come out of the Ferrari dealership with keys rattling in our pocket! Or you might vigorously imagine neighbors coming to your property for a barn-raising.
Many teachers also suggest we create a “Vision Board” with photos or drawings of the new house (or barn or car) we want and then, stir our emotional juices and “see” and feel that all these are real for us right NOW in the NOW.
Homespun Appreciation
NOW, during the season of Thanksgiving we can celebrate the past, the blessings we have received during the last year. But we can also have a deep feeling of “Appreciation” and ponder how there is certainly more to come!
One of the definitions of the word, “Appreciation” is tied to the financial sphere. It means to “increase in value”. While our money sits in a savings account, it “Appreciates” in value because it earns interest. So appreciation is a mechanism we can apply to our future by celebrating in our imaginations!
So, as Thanksgiving comes and goes, we can be grateful for the past. Those of us who are homespun and live a homesteading lifestyle are accustomed to expressing gratitude for our crops and the hands that tend them. But it is important also to rigorously value that which we can create with our Mind’s Eye as a Vision– an enduring picture of our best future. We must intentionally celebrate all the GOOD that could be in our lives and think as if it is truly there! Let the JOY roll! Dance up a storm! Appreciate your imaginations and so shall they come to be!
